Professional trumpeter Xia Mengyang currently serves as Associate Principal Trumpet (contract) of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, Guest Principal Trumpet of the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, and Guest Trumpet with the Sydney Symphony Orchestra, Shanghai Symphony Orchestra, and Wuxi Symphony Orchestra. He is also the Solo Trumpet for the George Franklin Big Band in Australia and the Solo Cornetist of the Western Australian Brass Ensemble.
